Keto Chai

Confession time: I am not a coffee person. I don't hate it. But, I'm a tea lover.  My sacred morning ritual is a mug of frothy keto chai occasionally paired with some keto bread. I have a breakfast spot in my living room couch that overlooks my sunny balcony and I love to indulge in this morning ritual while zoning out the world around me. Keto chai is the fancier cousin of the bullet proof coffee. This drink can be customized to anyone's tastes and there is no one right way to make this. Make it your own by playing with the ingredients. So, what goes into my keto chai? Lots of good fat. That's what goes into it. Let me walk you through how I make this keto chai.

Ingredients:

Tea decoction - 300 ml
Butter - 2tbsp or about 30 gms
Fresh cream or whipping cream - 3 tbsp or about 45gms
Keto sweetener of your choice

Method:

Gather your ingredients. I use a flavored tea blend that has a bunch of spices in it. I use Zevic stevia-based sweetener. Truvia will be a good equivalent of it. We avoid milk in keto as its heavy on carbs. So, this chai latte is made with cream(fresh or whipping) instead of milk. I add butter to this as I love butter. Hmmmm.... butter!

Make your tea decoction in your preferred way. I add a teaspoon or two of the tea blend to water and bring it to a boil.

Take your tea cup or in my case ,a beer mug! Add the butter and cream to your mug.

Add the hot tea decoction to this and add your sweetener. I use about 3 spoons of Zevic.

Now, all you have to do is blend this nicely. I use this magic gadget to blend and froth my keto chai. Is it weird that I feel very possessive about my frother? My precious...!!

You have your frothy and filling keto chai ready for your consumption. I like to pair it with the KetoConnect coconut flour garlic bread. Trust me when I say this is pure bliss!
