Who is the cook here?
Hi there! Welcome to my blog!
I'm a 30-something working mom-of-two boys. I found a new love for cooking in the last year and I started cooking all the meals for my family. Cooking doesn't come naturally to me. But, I'm a good learner.. I can follow a recipe and make a decent meal. I prefer simple and easy-to-cook meals than elaborate ones that want me to slave over the stove for hours together.
My journey towards fitness and health also started last year. Middle age is when you realize you have let your health slip away from you when you are busy building your family and career. I had an epiphany of sorts last year when I decided to take better care of myself. My weight have always been a problem but, I never let it bother me till then. All of a sudden, I felt that my body is complaining about the extra weight I've been carrying around. So, that is how I stumbled upon Paleo and Keto.
I started Paleo in May 2017 and moved to Keto since September 2017. I started off with simple and basic meals and once I started doing Keto, I decided I need variety in my meals. I wanted to try new-to-me ingredients and started reading the keto blogs to prepare my meals. My favorite keto blogs/channels are KetoConnect and Headbanger's Kitchen.
The reason for this blog is twofold. One: I wanted a place for me to refer back to my own meal plans so that I am not scrambling for them. I don't do recipes from memory. Even if I make the same dish every day a million times, I still will need to refer to the recipe, just in case. :-) Two: many of my friends who have seen me on this keto journey requested me to log my recipes and meals. So, this blog is for them.
I am hoping to keep this blog a simple one without much jazz. I hope to keep the recipes simple and my writing lucid so that even someone sitting on the fence about paleo/keto would realize how easy and simple it can be made as a lifestyle.
I do have my off days..where I eat ALL.THE.JUNK.FOOD. But, I get back on track as soon as I can. This blog is another endeavor to keep me on track more than not. I have learnt to be kind to myself and not beat myself up over the off-days. We are only human.
I might talk about my keto journey here when I feel like I am ready for that. I am not a keto expert. So, I may not be the right person to preach about keto. So, I will try to keep it simple for now. Hope you guys like what you see. Please leave a comment if you have tried any recipes from here. It would warm my keto heart. :-)
Cheers!
